Come join the team at The Malcolm Hotel as we move into an exciting and busy summer season! We are looking for a Banquet Supervisor to provide leadership, direction and guidance to the banquet and events team while ensuring the highest level of customer service is being maintained.

We are looking for a seasoned food and beverage professional with minimum 2 years experience in banquets or events, preference will be given to those with supervisor or management experience. This position requires a person with a friendly professional demeanour, who is articulate, team-oriented, and reliable. A minimum high school education is required in this role, as is a ProServe certificate. The successful candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position involves being on your feet for most of an 8-hour shift and requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 15kg.

• The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Direct the daily activities of staff members in the banquet department.
• Ensuring food quantities and quality is met before it is served to guests.
• Ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner.
• Recording usage and waste.
• Reviewing BEO’s to ensure set up and requirements are complete.
• Following up with group coordinators to ensure functions are running smoothly and all requests have been met.
• Training new staff members according to the requirements set out by the department manager.
