Chef de Partie - Pastry

Job Description

Come join the culinary team at the Stirling Dining Room and Lounge, located within the Malcolm Hotel. We are looking for a Chef de Partie. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience working as a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef; preference will be given to those with Red Seal certification. A valid Food Handler’s Certificate is required in this position, as is previous supervisory experience. The person in this role must have good verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone with a minimum high school education. 

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Reviewing the Banquet Event Orders daily with the Sous Chef
  • Preparing food orders to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
  • Running the kitchen in the absence of the Sous Chef
  • Delegating the production of the necessary food items in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensuring that all food products are handled, prepared, served, and stored safely and in accordance with Alberta Food Safety guidelines
  • Maintaining a sanitary, clean, and organized work are (including refrigerators, freezers, countertops, and stove tops). 

Full-time employees qualify for group benefits after 6 months of continuous employment. 

Subsidized staff accommodation is available for full-time employees, pending availability. All units come fully furnished with free internet and cable. As all units are shared, we are unable to accommodate pets. 

Starting salary from $22.75 – $23.50 per hour.
